Alicia Keys has set the Billboard charts on fire with her latest effort. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Girl on Fire has sold 159, 000 copies in its first week; and this number was enough to give the piano tickling R&B superstar, another No. 1 album.
Despite debuting at the top however, Girl on Fire marks the lowest opening week Alicia Keys has had for any of her five studio albums. The only album not to debut at No. 1 was 2009’s ‘The Element of Freedom’ which still managed first week sales of 417, 000.
After spending last week at No. 1, Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ drops five spots to No. 6, while Taylor Swift’s Red remains at No. 2 for the third straight week with total sales of over 2.2million.
